A few answers for your first days in the garden.
Open Garden and tap the + button. Enter a name, add a cultivar if you know it, and save photos, a planting date or notes. You can enter your own cultivar name; you don’t have to pick one from the suggestions.
On a compatible iPhone, tap Scan and hold the top of your phone near the tag. A recognized tag opens its rose record. An unrecognized tag lets you create a record for that plant.
Use a compatible NDEF tag. If it won’t read, move the top of your phone closer, try a different angle, and move the tag away from metal. NFC scanning is not available on iPad; you can still browse and edit your catalog without tags.
Yes. Open a rose’s record and choose Add photos. You can keep multiple photos for each plant and choose a cover photo for the catalog.
Open the rose’s record and choose Water, Prune, Feed or Add. You can include a note with the entry. Review past entries in the plant’s history or in Journal.
Open Settings and choose Export garden. Save the backup somewhere you can reach if your device is lost or replaced. It includes photos, tag links and care history.
To restore, choose Import backup in Settings and select your saved file. Import adds missing roses; it skips roses already on the device, including their history. Version 1 supports backup files up to 150 MB.
No. Your garden is stored locally on each device. There is no account or automatic sync. Export a backup before moving devices or deleting the app; we cannot recover records that only existed on your device.
No. Rosarian keeps the names and information you enter. It includes a small list of cultivar name suggestions, but it does not identify flowers from photos or provide a complete cultivar reference database.
